Here's what you need outside of Churchly for a successful launch

  1. Domain Name
  • Check out this article on how to purchase a domain name - this is your URL.
  • Here are the basics when it comes to Churchly and Domain/Web Hosting:
      1. Web hosting is covered in all of our Churchly subscription plans so there's no need to purchase or use any additional web hosting service.
      2. Domain hosting (registration) is a different type of hosting, and that is a service you can continue, add, or change whenever you wish through a provider like GoDaddy etc.
      3. Your Churchly website does not transfer to another web hosting company. If you decide to cancel Churchly, it simply becomes inactive. As with many services, your domain hosting would then go to an error page until you pointed it to your new site or web hosting service.
      4. Churchly automatically maintains your website in the background with the latest updates as they become available. Many web services either charge for updates, or require you to take an action each time an update is available.

  1. Sermon Streaming Platform
  • We can embed your live stream & message archive in your Churchly site or we can link out to your streaming platform.
    • When we embed a video on your site, the video "lives" and plays within your site. No need to leave your Churchly site to watch the video!
    • When we link a video on your site, we create a button which will direct a user to your streaming platform page when they click on that button. We recommend setting up the link to open up in a new tab, that way the user is not completely pulled away from your Churchly website.
  • Here are some sample streaming platforms:
    • YouTube - Most compatible with Churchly. Best for both embedding and linking. Click here for a tutorial on how to set up a YouTube channel.
    • Vimeo - Can both embed and link within Churchly.
    • Facebook - Can link within Churchly, cannot be embedded within Churchly.

  1. Giving/Tithing Platform
  • Just like your service streaming, we can link out to your giving platform or embed it within your Churchly website using custom code.
    • When we link your giving platform on your site, we create a button which will direct a user to your giving/tithing page when they click on that button. We recommend setting up the link to open up in a new tab, that way the user is not completely pulled away from your Churchly website.
    • When we embed your giving platform on your site, we will need you to provide us with the embed code provided by your giving platform. From there, we use our code widget to embed the content on your Churchly website.
  • Here are some sample giving/tithing platforms:

  1. Logos, Photos, and Videos
  • You will need to provide us with all the media you would like included on your Churchly website (e.g. photos, videos, logos, branding guides, files, etc.). Churchly does not provide any editing to the media provided (e.g. cropping, fixing pixilated images, trimming videos, etc.).
  • Here are our recommendations for photos to put on your Churchly website:
    • Church members (e.g. people praying together, worship, in fellowship, etc.)
    • Ministries (Children's, Men's, Women's, Small Groups, etc.)
    • Volunteers & Events
    • Exterior & Interior of Church Building
    • Staff
    • Anything that represents your church!
