Audio Widget
In this video we're talking all things audio player! We'll look at how to add audio to your pages!
Introduction
In this tutorial, we'll go through the steps to add an audio widget to your Churchly site. This feature is perfect for sharing worship tracks, sermons, or any other audio content with your congregation. While Churchly doesn't offer a native sermon engine, our platform allows you to easily embed audio from other sources, giving you a versatile tool to enhance your site.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open Your Website Editor
- Begin by navigating to the section of your site where you would like to add the audio widget.
Step 2: Add a New Block
- Choose to add a new section at the bottom or wherever you prefer on the page.
- Select an "Empty Block" to start with a clean space.
Step 3: Locate the Audio Widget
- In your editor's media section, find the audio widget. This is where you'll be able to embed your audio content.
Step 4: Drag and Drop the Audio Widget
- Click on the audio widget and drag it to the desired block on your page.
Step 5: Configure Your Audio Widget
- By default, the widget is set up for songs. You can name your audio track (e.g., "I Love You, Lord").
- Optionally add an author or source for the track. Make up a name if you prefer or use the actual artist's name.
- Choose between a light or dark theme for the widget to match your site’s design.
- Decide whether you want your audio to auto-play (Note: It’s often user-friendly to leave auto-play off).
Step 6: Upload Your Audio File
- Organize your files by creating a new folder, possibly named "Audio," for easy management.
- Upload your audio file from your device or select an existing file from your site's library.
- If uploading, wait for the upload to complete. Remember, file size impacts upload time.
Step 7: Customize Display Settings:
- Choose to show the artist's name and the track name on your site.
- If embedding a sermon, you might replace "artist" with your pastor’s name and "song name" with the sermon title.
Step 8: Add Descriptive Text (Optional)
- Above the audio widget, add a text block to introduce your audio content, e.g., “A New Worship Song from the Worship Ministry.”
Step 9: Preview Your Work
- Save your changes and preview your website. It gives you an opportunity to see how the audio widget appears and functions before publishing.
- Ensure the audio player is working correctly, including play, volume control, and responsiveness on different devices.
Step 10: Finalize and Publish
- Once satisfied, save all changes and update your website to make the audio accessible to your site visitors.
