Maps Widget

In this video we'll take a look at how to add a map with your own address, as well as, how to style it.

Introduction

Adding a map widget to your Churchly website is a great way to show visitors your location. This guide walks you through the process, from adding the widget to customizing its appearance.

Step 1: Add Space for the Map

  • Navigate to the page where you wish to add the map.
  • Add an empty block to the page to create some space for the map widget.

Step 2: Insert the Map Widget

  • Locate the map widget in the widget section.
  • Drag and drop the map widget into the newly created space.
    • By default, the map might point to a pre-set location (e.g., the Space Needle).

Step 3: Configure the Map Location

  • Enter your desired location into the map widget. This can be as specific as you like, from a general city to a precise street address.

Step 4: Choose Map Type & Zoom Level

  • Select the map type. Though you have options like satellite, a roadmap is recommended for faster loading times.
  • Adjust the zoom level. You can zoom in to focus closely on your location or zoom out to show a broader area.

Step 5: Resize the Map

  • If the default map size isn't to your liking, you can adjust this.
  • To make the map span from side to side, resize the container to full width.
  • Eliminate any unwanted white space below the map by dragging down the corner arrow in the bottom right of the map area, making the map larger.
