How to Connect Your Domain Name to Churchly
Going LIVE with your church website is an exciting thing, and we know you're ready to get it up and running ASAP.
Take the steps below one and a time and you should be good to go.
Step 1:
Go to Your Website Settings
- Log into your Churchly account.
- Go to your Website or Funnel Settings.
- Click on Domains.
Step 2:
Enter Your Domain Name
- Click Connect an Existing Domain.
- Type in your domain name (e.g.,
yourchurch.com
) and click Next.
Step 3: Copy the Two DNS Records
After entering your domain, Churchly will show you 2 DNS records:
- A Record – points to an IP address
- CNAME Record – points to your Churchly website
IMPORTANT:
- You should only have ONE A record with
@
as the name. - You should only have ONE CNAME record with
www
as the name. - If there are duplicates, delete the old ones!
Step 4:
Add the Records in Your Domain Provider (like GoDaddy or Namecheap)
If You Use GoDaddy:
- Go to godaddy.com and log in.
- Find your domain and click DNS.
- Scroll to the DNS Records section and click Add.
- Add both the A and CNAME records shown in Churchly.
If You Use Namecheap:
- Go to namecheap.com and log in.
- Find your domain and click Manage.
- Go to the Advanced DNS tab.
- Scroll down and click Add New Record.
- Add the A and CNAME records from your Churchly settings.
Note: Namecheap may take up to 24 hours for the changes to fully apply.
Step 5:
Wait for Your Domain to Connect
- Your domain may start working in under 1 hour.
- In some cases, it might take up to 24-48 hours to fully connect.
